Here is this week's Wednesday wedding. These are a few pics from a beautiful, close family wedding that took place in late august this past year. The wedding took place in the beautiful The Anglers Cork in Ballincollig.
Wedding dress: VOWS.ie
Alterations: By Kate
Flowers: Glitters and Sugar
Ceremony Music: Ted Dunne Entertainment
The Wedding itself was outside which made for some beautiful photos throughout the day. It was just a really relaxed atmosphere. The children playing in the garden enjoying their day, while the officiant struggled with the wind but nothing she couldn't handle 😛
All the family was stunned when she walked out after getting ready at home. I myself was smiling so much seeing how beautiful the bride was and how lucky I was to be part of her day. We took a number of family photos and then headed off for the wedding itself. Shane the groom was waiting patiently.
The ceremony was beautiful. everything went well together. The weather, the multiple poems, and stories gi9ven by the efficient and close family. At the end of the ceremony, they ended up doing a handfasting which was my first time witnessing it along with the bride, the groom, and their two kids pouring different colors of sand into one vase connecting their family.  So many beautiful moments. And I had the privilege of capturing all of it.
Many thanks to the bride and groom for letting me capture their wedding.

Wedding Wednesday: Mary and Keith Tighe.
This beautiful, emotional and downright most nuts wedding I've been part of took place July 18th, 2019.
Vendors:
Venue: The Pikers Lodge
DJ: Ken Kerrigan
Dress: Grooms Godmothers Dress

It was just my second wedding. I was so thankful for the brides' mother getting in contact with me in the first place to enquire. Overjoyed really.
The day before the wedding I met up with the bride and her family to discuss the following day which is always so key if you're having a photographer on the day. We went through a guided timeline and I can honestly say it makes the whole day run so much smoother.
On the wedding day, I made my way to the bride's house to catch some detail shots, some family photos before the hectic day started, and the most heartwarming and sweet first look with the father. I made the decision to not see her dressed until the father-in-law did which made me emotional seeing how beautiful she looks. The moment he opened his eyes, he began to smile and then cry, along with myself, and the beautiful bride. It was so personal and a privilege to watch.
Got to the Pikers' lodge about 15 minutes before the ceremony. Just relaxing with the wedding party and getting to know people and chatting with the officiant. And then just before the bride got out of the car, it cried from the heavens. even the sky got a bit emotional I guess... But no problem, nothing could damage her perfect day. Then I see Mary walking down the aisle with her father-in-law Tommy and it was just a beautiful moment.
[I will just say this now, I think there should be a ban on phones during the ceremony from beginning to end. Photographers are hired to be there to capture these life-changing moments and the last thing anyone wants to see is a number of devices out when they have the rest of the day for photos.]
It was a beautiful ceremony with speeches, a song, a poem written and spoken by their son which made many people emotional.
Then we had some free time after the exit of the bride for family and friends photos and having the banter before the reception. It's during this time which is perfect for you to have your Couple photos taken somewhere beautiful on or off location.
Skipping to later that evening after dinner, the speeches and cake cutting happened, and not gonna lie I cried again. I'm sorry I can't help it. Then the night really got going. Dancing, singing, many many pints of water, and so much banter.
These people in Westmeath can PARTY lemme tell ya. And of course, I got stuck in with them. So much so I engaged in the ritual catching of the girder.
For those that don't know, in some weddings, the girder on the woman's thigh gets taken off by their partner then thrown into the crowd of single men waiting to catch it, similar with the bouquet. And after someone bought the bouquet, I got in there and managed to catch the girder! I was so excited then it just turned to fear as I realized I had to put it up the girl's leg with my mouth 😮 We mutually agreed no, then low and behold the best man steps in, drops the trousers, and sits down for me. The DJ plays a perfect song for this moment and I proceed to walk on my hands and knees to him placing the girder up his leg with my mouth. I mean insane but honestly the purest banter ever. The photographer on duty! Anyway, after that malarkey, we finished the night around 12 or so.  Thanks to everyone who was involved that night for giving me a phenomenal day.
